Jonathan Liew joined the TMG Editorial Graduate Scheme in 2008 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in history. After undertaking a placement at the Herald in Glasgow, he joined the Sport department at the end of 2009, despite possessing virtually no sporting ability of his own. In his time at The Telegraph he has covered two Olympic Games, a football World Cup, a rugby union World Cup, two Ryder Cups and five Wimbledons, interviewed some of the world's most famous athletes, and sat through numerous freezing FA Cup replays at places like Milton Keynes and Norwich. He was named Young Sportswriter of the Year at the Sports Journalism Awards in 2012, which remains the last time anybody saw him in a suit. He lives in south London.
