Chris evans - director of content and editor
Chris joined the Telegraph from the Daily Mail in in January 2007 as News Editor for the Daily Telegraph. After nine months he was promoted to Executive Head of News. Three years later Chris took the position of Assistant Editor, Daily Editor Executive. In 2014 he was promoted to Acting Weekday Print Editor and again to Editor (The Daily Telegraph Monday to Friday) before becoming Director of Content and Editor 2015.
Chris is from a ‘solid news background’ with good populist news instincts. He is tough and forceful, as one would expect of a Mail-trained executive. He is respected by the editorial team. His nose for news was honed in Bristol, at a news agency – the South West News Service – which he joined after leaving Oxford University.
