At Oxford, Camilla edited Cherwell, the independent student newspaper. Based on a selection of my news stories and investigations, I was named ‘Reporter of the Year’ in the Guardian Student Media Awards 2010.
During my university holidays, I interned at The Guardian, The Times, The Observer, and my local paper, The Ham & High. I also freelanced for various national papers. While at Oxford, I was awarded the Philip Geddes Memorial Prize for excellence in student journalism, the Bullock Career Award, and a Murdoch Scholarship. I spent one university holiday in Ghana, working at two newspapers based in the capital, Accra.
I was awarded a scholarship from the Arts and Humanities Research Council to fund my postgraduate studies in Journalism at City University. After completing my MA, I worked as a researcher at Hardcash Productions, an independent television production company specialising in investigative documentaries.
